FRIDAY 25th DECEMBER 2009.

I’m smiling at you from across the room,
And you’re not even there.
Whistling distant tunes
And I don’t care.
I’m conducting orchestras
With earplugs in,
Issuing awkwardness
Instructions.
You are my Christmas gift
This year,
And however long I live
You will be here.

  1. This is a Christmas poem that has made me stop and ponder.

The work you embarked on for the year has been ambitious, momentous. As the year draws to a close, I watch to see how you fashion the final chapters, with great anticipation.
